Privacy Policy

Account information: name, email address, and password when you register.

Profile information (workers): skills, certifications, service area, profile photo, proof of insurance, and banking information for payouts (collected by Stripe).

Job information: job descriptions, addresses, photos uploaded during check-in/check-out, hours worked, and ratings.

Payment information: credit card details are collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store raw card numbers.

Usage data: IP addresses, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the platform.

• To operate the platform — match customers with workers, process payments, send notifications
• To verify worker credentials and eligibility
• To communicate with you about your account, jobs, and platform updates
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
• To comply with legal obligations
• To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized analytics

We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

We share personal information only as necessary to operate the platform:

• Stripe: Payment processing and worker payouts. Stripe may collect additional information under their own privacy policy.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure, email delivery (SES), and file storage (S3). Data is stored in Canada (ca-central-1) where possible.
• Between customers and workers: Job details, first name, and contact context are shared as necessary to facilitate the job.
• Legal authorities: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal and operational purposes. Job records are retained for a minimum of seven years to satisfy tax and audit requirements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data — see Your Rights below.

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to retention obligations)
• Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent to optional processing at any time

To exercise these rights, email us at support@rentapro.ca with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will respond within 30 days.

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and role-based access controls. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. We will notify you of any breach that poses a real risk of significant harm as required by PIPEDA.

We use session storage and local storage in your browser to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics, if used, are aggregated and anonymized.

The platform is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email before material changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
